You can duplicate, rename and delete your proposal templates from the Templates tab on the Proposals page. This article covers each one and what happens to proposals that are already with customers.
Finding the template menu
Go to Proposals and open the Templates tab.
Find the template.
Hover over or click the … at the bottom right of its card.
The menu has four options: Edit, Duplicate, Delete and Sell on Marketplace.
System templates, the ones marked with a System label, are BoothBook’s built-in designs. To hide them from the list, switch off Show System Templates at the top of the tab.
Duplicating a template
Duplicating is the easiest way to make a second template that’s similar to your first, for example a corporate version of your wedding template.
Open the template’s … menu.
Click Duplicate.
Open the copy, rename it and edit it.
The copy has the same layout, styling, custom code and settings as the original. Changes to the copy don’t affect the original.
Renaming a template
Give templates names that tell your team which one to use, such as “Wedding 2027” or “Corporate events”, rather than “New template 2”.
Open the template in the builder.
Click the drop-down arrow next to Preview and choose Configure Template.
Change the name.
Save.
Configure Template is also where you set the template’s description and the page title customers see in their browser tab.
Deleting a template
Open the template’s … menu.
Click Delete.
Deleting a template removes it from your list, so nobody can create new proposals from it. Proposals already created from it aren’t affected. They keep their own copy of the design.
If you’re not sure you’ll need it again, consider renaming it to something like “Old: Wedding 2025” instead of deleting it.
Deleting a proposal
Only delete a proposal if it was created by mistake. If a customer has decided not to book, it’s usually better to leave the proposal alone and update the lead’s status, so you keep a record of what you sent.
You’ll need the delete permission to delete proposals. This is set in user and team settings.
Before you delete anything
Deleting is permanent. There’s a separate article on what happens when you delete something in BoothBook. Check it if you’re unsure.
