BoothBook keeps a copy every time a proposal or template is saved. If something goes wrong, you can go back to an earlier version with Version Control.

This is useful when you’ve deleted a section by mistake, when an experiment with your design didn’t work out, or when several people on your team are editing the same template.

Restoring a version

  1. Open the proposal or template in the builder.

  2. Click the drop-down arrow next to Preview at the top of the builder.

  3. Click Version Control. The Version History panel opens on the right.

  4. Click the version you want. Versions are listed by the date and time they were saved, newest first, and the one you’re viewing is in bold.

  5. Check the page in the builder.

  6. Click Save to keep this version.

  7. If it’s a proposal the customer already has, click Publish to make the restored version live.

Clicking a version only loads it into the builder. Nothing changes until you save, so you can click through several versions to find the right one. If you change your mind, click the version at the top of the list to go back to the latest one.

When it helps

You deleted something by mistake. Restore the version from before the change.

A teammate changed the template. Click back through the versions to see what it looked like before, and restore the one you want.

You want to try a bold change. Make it, and if it doesn’t work, restore the previous version. It’s a lot easier than rebuilding from memory.

Generate with AI replaced your work. Restore the version you had before you generated.

Things to know

Version Control only covers saved changes. Anything you hadn’t saved isn’t in the history, so save as you go.

Restoring a version on a template doesn’t change proposals already created from it. Each proposal has its own history.

For a proposal that’s already been sent, the customer keeps seeing the last published version until you publish again. Restoring and saving only changes what’s in the builder.
