A block is a section of a proposal, such as an introduction, an FAQ or a reviews section, that you can save and reuse in other proposals and templates. If you find yourself building the same section for the third time, save it as a block.

Why use blocks

Blocks save time when you build, but the bigger benefit is keeping things consistent. If your FAQ is typed out separately in three templates, they’ll drift apart over time. Kept as one block, you update it in one place and every new proposal that uses it gets the same answers.

Good things to save as blocks:

  • an introduction to your business

  • your FAQ

  • an explanation of how a service works

  • your terms or booking process

  • contact details

Saving a block

Blocks live on the Blocks tab in Proposals, alongside Proposals and Templates.

  1. Go to Proposals and open the Blocks tab.

  2. Create a new block.

  3. Build the section with rows, columns and elements, the same way you would in the proposal builder.

  4. Save it.

Adding a block to a proposal or template

  1. Open the proposal or template in the builder.

  2. Click the plus icon or the block icon in the side menu on the left of the page.

  3. Select your block from the modal.

The block arrives with its rows, columns, spacing and content already set. The modal shows BoothBook’s ready-made blocks as well as your own.

Editing a block on one proposal

Once a block is on a page, editing it there only changes that copy. Use this for one-off changes for a particular customer.

Editing the master block

To change a block for future use, edit the master version on the Blocks tab. Every proposal or template you add it to from then on gets the updated version.

Editing a master block doesn’t change proposals that have already been sent. A sent proposal stays as it was when you published it. If you need to fix something in a proposal a customer already has, edit that proposal and publish it again.

Common questions

I updated my FAQ block. Why hasn’t a proposal I already sent changed? Sent proposals keep the content they had when you published them. Edit that proposal, update the section and publish it again.
