How to add a document
Documents are built and managed from Settings, then Document Templates. Every template created for your account is listed there.
Creating a template
Click Add Document Template. You'll be asked for a name, then a data type.
The data type is the entity this template is for, jobs, contacts, venues, projects, reps, and others. It matters more than it might look like it should, since it decides both what you can assign the finished document to and which variables are available to you once you're building it.
Once you've named it and chosen a data type, the template is created and ready to be built out inside the document editor.
Auto Create
In the settings menu, top right of the document, there's an Auto Create toggle.
Switch it on and a new copy of the document is created automatically the moment a new entity of that type is added. Set up a job sheet template once, turn Auto Create on, and every job created from then on gets its own job sheet without anyone having to remember to make one.
Documents created this way show up under the Files tab in the entity drawer, alongside anything else attached to that record.
Where to go next
A separate article covers using the document editor itself, including elements, variables, generating a document with AI, and styling.
