Some parts of a contract need more than a signature at the bottom. A model release, your damage policy or your cancellation terms are all things you might want a customer to acknowledge on their own, the way they'd initial a section on a paper contract.
You do this with a confirm checkbox. It sits inline in your contract, right next to the section it relates to, and your customer has to tick it to confirm they've read and agree to that part.
Add a confirm checkbox to your contract
From your dashboard, click your Profile icon, then click Settings.
Click Contracts.
Open the contract you want to edit, for example your Default Booking Contract.
Click where you want the checkbox to appear, usually straight after the section it relates to.
Type / and choose the confirm checkbox from the list.
Click the text next to the checkbox and replace it with what the customer is confirming.
Click Save.
Write your own checkbox wording
Each checkbox comes with default text, but you can click on it and write your own. Make it say exactly what the customer is agreeing to, for example:
Yes, I confirm I agree to the model release
Yes, I confirm I have read the cancellation policy
Yes, I confirm I'm responsible for any damage to the equipment during the event
You can add as many checkboxes as you need, 1 for each section you want the customer to acknowledge.
What your customer sees
When your customer opens their contract, each checkbox appears inline, next to the section it belongs to. They need to tick every checkbox to confirm they've read those parts, as well as signing the contract.
Can customers add their initials instead?
There isn't a separate initials field. A confirm checkbox does the same job: it records that the customer has read and agreed to a specific section, without them having to type anything.
