Conditional Text in Contracts: How to show text based on what's booked
Instead of maintaining a separate contract for every service or package you offer, you can use conditional text to have one contract template that automatically shows or hides certain wording depending on what's actually in the booking.
For example, you could add a clause that only appears if the client has booked your outdoor event package, or a liability paragraph that only shows if a sparkler machine add-on is included. If the condition isn't met, that text is simply left out of the generated contract - the client never sees it.
How to show text in your default Booking Contract based on what's booked:
From your dashboard, click your Profile icon, and then click Settings.
Click on Contracts.
Click on the Default Booking Contract to view and edit your default contract.
Update your default contract text to suit your business and terms.
Start typing { to select variables that will replace client and event information automatically when a booking is created. You can also start typing / in order to add shortcuts to formatted items such as headings, images and confirm checkboxes.
For Conditionals, start typing { and scroll to the bottom then select Condition
You'll now see an area inserted with Condition and an area below where you can enter text to display when that condition is true
Click on the top area labelled Condition and you'll now be able to set the conditions you'd like the text to show for. For example, if Service is Glambot or if Product is Red Carpet & Stanchions
Enter the text you'd like to display when that condition is true
Use the menu icons in the top right to update the contract background style, text style as well as settings such as requiring both parties to sign and toggle off Auto Create (When auto create is enabled, this contract will be auto assigned to all new created jobs)
Click Save to have the Contract template updated successfully.
When a contract is generated for a booking, the system checks the booking's actual services, products, etc against your conditions. If it matches, your text is inserted; if not, that section is left out entirely.
