Pictor is a photo booth app that runs on your booth. The BoothBook integration feeds your bookings straight into your Pictor account, so when you start a new event in Pictor you select it from a list and the configuration is done for you.

It also lets your customers choose their own event experience from inside their client portal, using the Pictor lookbook. A customer books through BoothBook, picks their experience in the portal, and that choice is saved to Pictor. When the event is pulled into Pictor, it is already set up with the experience, custom text, additional options and anything else they selected along the way.

The practical benefit is that you stop copying data from one platform to the other by hand. It all comes across automatically.

Turning it on

Go to the Apps page in your BoothBook account, scroll down and enable the Pictor app.

Once it is installed, you will be asked for two things.

Company ID

This is the ID of your Pictor account. You can find it inside Pictor, in your account settings under the Integrations page.

Client portal visibility

This controls which customers see the Pictor lookbook in their client portal. By default it shows for all customers.

You can also limit it to customers who have bought specific products. That is useful if Pictor only runs on certain booths or workflows. Say you have one photo booth type that uses Pictor and others that don’t. Limit visibility to the products for that booth, and only those customers will be asked to choose an experience.

Save, and an icon appears in the client portal for the customers who qualify.

What your customer sees

When a customer books online and goes through to their client portal, they will see the new icon. Clicking it opens the Pictor widget, embedded in that tab.

From there they can work through the full experience. That includes choosing their templates, picking the size of their prints, videos or GIFs, adding custom text for the overlays, and selecting the rest of their experience options. When they click save, their choices are stored against the booking.

Seeing what a customer chose

There are two places to look.

The first is the customer’s client portal, where revisiting the same tab shows what they selected.

The second is the booking drawer. Open the booking and go to the Data tab, where you will find a card with the Pictor name on it, listing all of their choices and selections.

What you see in Pictor

Once the integration is running, your Pictor events dashboard is pre-filled with events from BoothBook. Open any of them and the details have come across, including whatever the customer chose in their portal. Starting the event is then a case of selecting it rather than setting it up from scratch.

How syncing works

Syncing is not real time, and it only runs in one direction.

The event is pulled into Pictor from BoothBook initially. If you change something on the BoothBook side afterwards, you can re-sync that event inside Pictor to bring the changes across.

Changes made inside Pictor do not sync back to BoothBook. If you edit an event in Pictor, BoothBook will not know about it, so make any changes to the booking itself in BoothBook first and re-sync, rather than editing it in both places.
