Connecting Photobooth Talk
Photobooth Talk is a template library. Connecting it lets your customers choose their own print template from inside their client portal, matched to the layouts each of your services can actually produce.
Open your Profile at the bottom left, go to Settings, then Connected accounts, then the templates tab.
Connecting your account
Connect your Photobooth Talk account from the templates tab and save.
Once connected, the rest of the setup is about telling the system which templates belong with which of your services.
Matching galleries to your services
After connecting, you get a dropdown for each of your services.
For every service, select the galleries that apply to it. The options cover the different layout types available, including photo strips, 4x6, square, story and Glambooth, among others.
What you pick should match what that service can actually output. A service running strips should be showing strip galleries, and a service producing 4x6 prints should be showing 4x6.
Get this wrong and a customer chooses a template your equipment cannot print, which you find out about on the day. Setting the galleries carefully once is a great deal cheaper than that conversation.
When you add a new service
Galleries are set per service, so a service added later starts with nothing selected.
Make it part of adding a service. Create the service, then come back here and set its galleries, or customers booking it will either see nothing or see the wrong thing.
Client portal visibility
This controls who sees the template chooser in their client portal.
You have two options. Show it to all customers, or show it only to customers who have purchased specific products.
If you choose specific products, you then select which products qualify below.
Setting it up as a paid upsell
The specific products option is what turns template choice into something you can charge for.
Enable the connection and set your galleries per service.
Create a product covering custom template design, priced at whatever you charge, and sell it through your booking form or anywhere else in the system.
Come back to this connection, set client portal visibility to specific products, and select that product.
From then on, any customer who buys it gets the template chooser in their portal automatically.
Everybody else gets whatever template you would have used anyway, and never sees the option.
Showing it to everyone instead
Showing the chooser to all customers works too, and it is the right call if template choice is part of what you already sell rather than an extra.
The trade off is that a customer who picks their own template is a customer who has opinions about it, which is usually good for the finished product and occasionally more work for you. Decide which you want before you switch it on.
What the customer sees
Once the chooser is enabled for them, it appears in their client portal alongside everything else they can access.
They browse the galleries you selected for their service, pick the template they want, and their choice is saved against the booking so your team can see it.
